Smart Creative Style eCourse

Monica Lee of Smart Creative Women, is offering an eCourse that might help me with my split personality....well, my split "painting-style" personality. If you follow this blog, it is probably because you've known me from my other blog: ~Painter of the Past~ where I've been painting Folk Art-style since 2007. This blog (Lilly Dew) is new and where I will offer "enchanting (or playful...haven't really decided) childhood illustrations and designs"....Hey, maybe the course will also help define my new blog/direction and I'll come up with a better description! :)

So, what to do? Not sure if I continue both styles, merge them, or stop doing one and just choose something already! I'm sure Monica's course will help with those questions and more!

Here is a link to the eCourse registration and to find out more about it:

Illustration Friday

Yes, it is Saturday, but I just got up my courage to submit my Red Radio Flyer Wagon watercolor painting on Illustration Friday's website.

I've stalked Illustration Friday for awhile now, and I signed up for their newsletter. Each Friday they (or a guest) will choose a topic for the week. It is usually a one word musing that can be interpreted by the artist...it is interesting to see what people come up with! Inspirational, in fact!

This week's word is: Travel

.....wagons do a lot of traveling if used properly.

Rev Up That Radio Flyer

Get your Superhero outfits on, or take the puppies for a parade ride. (Or make your brother pull you around the neighborhood while you sit in the wagon and give driving directions!...that's what I used to do!).

I painted a little red radio flyer wagon using graphite, ink, watercolor and gouche. And, I'm offering prints of this little red gem in my Lilly Dew Etsy Shop.

Roll on over and check it out!

Wow! What a Winter!

Snow, freezing ice showers, and more snow, snow, snow!  Our winter coats have been our "bestest" friends this season. And, as a tribute of sorts, I've painted sweet little coats all in a row with the words:

"A Winter Coat is a Like a Hug from a Friend You Haven't Seen in A Year"

They keep us warm for a season and then we say goodbye until another cold season comes along. Isn't it fun to pull out that coat each year and get a warm hug?

This will be in the LillyDew Etsy shop soon.  LillyDewDesigns

Stay Warm!

New Year~ New Beginnings

One of my "beginnings" for the new year is to start updating this blog! :) And, in order to do that, I need to fill my little Etsy shop with illustrations and other offerings. (Oh, and maybe a banner for my shop wouldn't hurt.) And, in order to do THAT, I'll need to paint.

So, it comes down to painting, which is where I LOVE to start anything.

Happy New Beginnings!
